How to install and run Limnor under Windows Vista
Windows Vista restricts access to some registry folders and system file folders by software. This causes compatibility issues to existing software. Vista provides two options to handle the issue: “Compatibility mode” and “Run as administrator”. We will show you how these options are used when installing and running Limnor under Windows Vista.
Installation
When you insert Limnor CD cancel autorun.exe if it starts. Open file explorer to locate autorun.exe. (If you run limnor.msi to install Limnor then all the instructions referring to autorun.exe below apply to limnor.msi as well) Right-click it and select Properties:
Select Compatibility tab, check “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”. Select the operating system as “Windows XP (Service Pack 2)”:
Check “Run this program as an administrator” under “Privilege Level”:
Now you may run Autorun.exe by double-clicking it or right-click it and choose “Run as administrator”:
The installation should run without a problem. If you run into problems, please contact us (support@limnor.com).
Run Limnor by re-creating Shortcut
After installation, a Limnor shortcut will appear on your desktop. Delete this shortcut because it won’t work under Vista:
Re-create the shortcut icon by right-clicking on the desktop and choosing “New” and “Shortcut”:
Click the Browse button to locate a file named ep.exe under your Limnor installation folder:
Click “Next” and give the shortcut a name to finish creating the shortcut.
Right-click the newly created shortcut and choose “Properties”:
Set its compatibility mode and privilege:
Now you may run Limnor by double-clicking the shortcut.
Run Limnor by calling ep.exe
Another way to run Limnor is to run ep.exe under your Limnor installation folder by using Windows XP compatibility mode and “Run as administrator”
