First Time Installation and Getting Started

For upgrade (not first time installation), click here

For the first time installation, follow the steps below:

Step	Operation
1.	Download vs_AppEnvRedist.exe from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=aca38719-f449-4937-9bac-45a9f8a73822&displaylang=en This is the distribution file for Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Shell (Isolated mode)
2.	Run vs_AppEnvRedist.exe to unpack files. Suppose you unpack the files to a folder VS 2008 Shell Redist, you will see the files in Isolated Mode folder:
3.	Run vs_shell_isolated.enu.exe This is to install Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Shell (Isolated mode)
4.	Download rdbgsetup_x64.exe from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=440ec902-3260-4cdc-b11a-6a9070a2aaab&displaylang=en This is needed to debug 64-bit projects. Even debug in local computer it is still needed. You do not need it if your OS is 32-bit.
5.	Run rdbgsetup_x64.exe
6.	Download and run rdbgsetup_ia64.exe and rdbgsetup_x86.exe from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=440ec902-3260-4cdc-b11a-6a9070a2aaab&displaylang=en This is optional. They are needed only for remote debugging ia64 and x86 platforms
7.	Download LimnorStudioVS.zip from studio_download.html This zip file contains the Limnor Studio installation files
8.	Unzip LimnorStudioVS.zip to a folder (KEEP the folder structure): LimnorStudioSetup.msi setup.exe vcredist_x86\vcredist_x86.exe Note that vcredist_x86.exe must be put in a sub-folder named vcredist_x86.
9.	Run setup.exe to install the Limnor Studio. If the setup fails then check the log file for detailed information.
10.	Download setup for tutorial slides from setuptutorials.msi, and run it.
11.	View tutorial slides: Run Limnor Studio and choose menu "Tutorials" to get started.

Tutorial videos are good for getting you jump started.
